Candidate selection & Working interview policy

At Clean Freaks, we’re dedicated to building a team that reflects our core values, upholds our performance standards, and demonstrates reliability, professionalism, and pride in their work. Our selection process is designed to ensure a mutually beneficial, long-term fit between each team member and the company.


10- DAY WORKING INTERVIEW OVERVIEW

All candidates must complete a 10-day Working Interview to evaluate their alignment with Clean Freaks’ standards and expectations.

During this period:

  • A reduced hourly training rate will apply, as agreed upon prior to the start date.
  • Performance, attitude, and ability to follow and retain instruction will be evaluated daily.
  • Successful completion of this period is required to move forward in the hiring process.
  • Advancement to employment is also contingent upon the outcome of a criminal background check.

STRUCTURE OF WORKING INTERVIEW 

The 10-day Working Interview is pass/fail, evaluated week to week, and divided into two key phases:

Week 1: Hands-On Training (Days 1–5)

Trainees work alongside a trainer in real client homes, focusing on:

  • Attendance & Timeliness
  • Observation & Retention
  • Participation
  • Progress

Week 2: Solo Prep (Days 6–10)

Trainees clean independently in client homes while management continues to assess performance.

This includes:

  • 1–2 light homes per day (3–5 per day)
  • Quality Assurance visits by a trainer or management
  • Independent use of key company tools (Housecall and Connecteam)
  • Demonstration of consistency, professionalism, and readiness for official hire

During the Solo Prep week, trainees will be paid up to one hour for any time exceeding a client’s “Time Allowed.” This ensures jobs are completed efficiently and that a thorough QA check is performed before leaving each home.


TRANSITION TO EMPLOYMENT 

  • If the trainee successfully completes the Working Interview and clears the background check, they will move forward with final onboarding and transition into official employment as a new hire under the 90-day probationary period, paid at the agreed-upon hourly rate for their position.
  • The agreed-upon hourly rate begins immediately after the successful completion of the Working Interview, which also marks the start of the 90-day probationary period.

PROBATIONARY PERIOD

All new hires are subject to a 90-day probationary period beginning on the date of official hire. During this phase, you are considered an active employee, but still within the evaluation period of employment.


EXPECTATIONS DURING THE PROBATIONARY PERIOD

Throughout the 90-day probationary period, employees are expected to:

  • Demonstrate reliability, strong communication, and attention to detail
  • Uphold Clean Freaks’ standards of quality, professionalism, and consistency
  • Follow all company policies and operational systems

Performance will be reviewed at the end of the 90-day period to determine readiness for continued long-term employment.


PAY & ELIGIBILITY

  • The employee will be compensated at the agreed-upon hourly rate for their position after successful completion of the Working Interview, which also marks the start of the probationary period.
  • Your base pay remains the same throughout the 90-day probationary period.
  • Additional benefits become active after the 90-day period is successfully completed.
  • Continued employment depends on maintaining Clean Freaks’ standards of quality and professionalism during this time.
  • Performance during the probationary period does not qualify for bonus review; bonus eligibility begins once an employee has demonstrated consistency beyond the initial 90 days.

BACKGROUND CHECK REQUIREMENT

  • All new hires must undergo and pass a criminal background check as part of the hiring process. Employment offers are considered conditional until background check results are received and approved by management.
  • This policy is in place to ensure a fair, thorough, and consistent hiring process for all new employees while maintaining the high standards of service that define Clean Freaks.
