OBSERVED HOLIDAYS & PAY

Clean Freaks recognizes specific holidays throughout the year and may offer holiday pay to eligible employees in accordance with company policy. This section outlines which holidays are observed, how holiday pay is applied, and the expectations around scheduling during designated blackout periods. Blackout periods are peak times when time-off requests may be limited or restricted due to high service demand. Understanding these guidelines helps ensure fairness, adequate staffing, and uninterrupted service to our clients.

OBSERVED HOLIDAYS

Clean Freaks observes the following holidays each year. Qualified employees will receive holiday pay for these dates:

  • New Year’s Day
  • Memorial Day
  • Juneteenth (June 19th)
  • Independence Day (July 4th)
  • Labor Day
  • Thanksgiving Day
  • Day After Thanksgiving
  • Christmas Eve
  • Christmas Day
  • Day After Christmas
  • New Year’s Eve

HOLIDAY PAY POLICY

See Employee Benefits to determine if you qualify for holiday pay.

To be eligible for holiday pay, employees must report to work on both the scheduled workday before and after the holiday. The only exception to this requirement is an absence that has been approved in advance by management.

Unexcused absences on either side of a holiday will result in forfeiture of holiday pay for that period. This policy helps ensure fairness and adequate coverage during holiday weeks.

BLACKOUT PERIOD POLICY

The period between the Monday before Thanksgiving and January 2nd is the busiest season of the year in the cleaning industry. To ensure we meet the high service demand during this time, Clean Freaks enforces a Holiday Blackout Period during which no time-off requests will be approved.

BLACKOUT PERIOD GUIDELINES

Employees are required to work their scheduled shifts during the blackout period. Failure to do so may result in immediate termination, unless a verifiable emergency is communicated and approved by management.

BLACKOUT SCHEDULE:

Thanksgiving Holiday:

  • The week before Thanksgiving
  • The week of Thanksgiving

Christmas & New Year Holiday:

  • The week before Christmas
  • The week of Christmas
  • The week after Christmas / New Year’s Week
  • New Year’s Eve (December 31)

This policy ensures we maintain full staffing to meet customer demand during peak holiday periods and continue delivering the high-quality service our clients expect.
