DRIVING & VEHICLE POLICY

At Clean Freaks, the safe and responsible use of  personal vehicles for work-related purposes is essential to protecting our employees, clients, and the public. This policy outlines the expectations, requirements, and safety standards for all staff who operate a vehicle during the course of their duties. All employees are expected to follow these guidelines to ensure compliance with legal regulations and to maintain a high standard of professionalism and care while on the road.

VEHICLE REQUIREMENTS

All employees are required to possess and maintain the following as a condition of employment at all times:

  • A valid current driver’s license
  • Current and active auto insurance
  • Access to a reliable, roadworthy vehicle

These are essential for fulfilling job responsibilities, as employees are expected to use their personal vehicles to travel to and from client appointments.

If an employee’s ability to meet any of these requirements changes at any time—whether due to loss of license, lapse in insurance, or vehicle inaccessibility—they must notify management immediately.

Failure to maintain compliance with this policy may result in disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment.

DRIVING CONDUCT

All employees are expected to operate their vehicles safely and in accordance with state and local laws. The following guidelines must be observed at all times while driving for work-related purposes:

  • Obey all state and local driving regulations
  • Do not use a cell phone or text while driving
  • In the event of an emergency or vehicle-related issue, remain calm and contact management immediately

Clean Freaks is not responsible for any car accidents or car damage that occur while on the job. Employees must rely on their personal vehicle insurance for coverage in the event of an accident.

PARKING COST

Employees are responsible for all upfront parking expenses. If the cost of parking exceeds $30, the employee must contact the office immediately for further instructions.

Employees are eligible for reimbursement of parking expenses up to $30 per client serviced. To receive reimbursement, employees must submit final parking receipts to management upon completion of service. Approved reimbursements will be included in the paycheck corresponding to the pay period in which the client was serviced.

PARKING FINES AND VEHICLE VIOLATIONS

All employees must ensure the vehicle used for work is legally registered and compliant with Illinois state requirements. The vehicle owner/operator is fully responsible for any fines, fees, or violations incurred during work hours, including but not limited to:

  • Expired license plates
  • Lack of insurance
  • Missing city sticker
  • Vehicle booting
  • Vehicle Tow
  • Speeding tickets
  • Red light camera violations
  • Cracked or damaged windshield

It is the employee’s responsibility to ensure that their vehicle is legally and safely parked at all times. Clean Freaks is not responsible for any tickets or fines incurred due to illegal parking.

Clean Freaks is not liable for any fines, fees, or penalties associated with an employee’s vehicle in any capacity.

VEHICLE ISSUES/RIDE-SHARE POLICY

In the event of unexpected vehicle issues, and if your presence is essential for scheduled work, you are required to retrieve your supply kit from your vehicle and take an Uber to your assigned location.

Clean Freaks will coordinate and cover the upfront cost of the Uber. However, the total cost will be split evenly between Clean Freaks and the employee. The employee’s portion of the fare will be deducted from their paycheck during the pay period in which the Uber was used.

This policy ensures that service disruptions are minimized while also maintaining fairness in covering transportation costs.
